Where a vessel is lined, we say so

Durga, Laxmi and Saraswati. Laxmi is installed at Diwali and at Dhanteras, usually beside Ganesh; Durga through Navratri; Saraswati at Vasant Panchami and in houses where somebody is studying.

The figures here are cast solid in brass and finished by hand. Nothing is plated and nothing is hollow-filled, which the gram figure on each page will settle for you on a kitchen scale. Where a murti carries an antique finish, the dark in the recesses is part of it and should not be polished out.
